WINTER HAVEN – The students of Elbert Elementary School in Winter Haven were visited by 14 special guests from Tampa’s Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) on September 13th. Those guests included two friendly outreach instructors and 12 exciting robots.

MOSI’s instructors spent an hour with students in third, fourth, and fifth grades providing hands-on learning sessions with the LEGO Mindstorm EV3 robots.

Elbert Elementary is one of 15 Title I schools in Polk County who will be visited by MOSI’s Robot Roundup program the next few months. Robot Roundup was funded by the George W. Jenkins fund through the GiveWell Community Foundation for the 2016 Impact Polk annual community grant program.

MOSI’s Robot Roundup program was also featured in the The Ledger (MOSI brings robots to Polk classrooms).

Thank you to the faculty at Elbert Elementary for inviting our staff to sit in on a session and take photos (see below). We had just as much fun watching the kids learn!
