What is Impact Polk?
Impact Polk is an annual competitive, donor-directed grant program of the GiveWell Community Foundation with the goal of addressing community needs throughout Polk County. Impact Polk grants often support a broad range of needs, such as arts and culture, education, health, and human services.
Who can apply?
GiveWell Community Foundation provides public organizations recognized by the IRS as described in the IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) as eligible for tax-exempt status, serving Polk County, an opportunity to apply for grant funding. Only one application per organization is permitted.
Timeline for Impact Polk 2020
The Impact Polk orientation event is September 19. Organizations who have not previously applied for Impact Polk funding must attend the orientation event. Nonprofits who have previously applied are encouraged to attend but are not required. Learn more and register for the event.
Impact Polk 2020 applications will be accepted September 23 – October 14. Applications will not be accepted before September 23, and they must be fully submitted before 5:00 p.m. on October 14.
Grant award notices will be sent around March – June 2020. Grant applications are viewed by fundholders for funding consideration, so we cannot guarantee an exact date for notices. All Impact Polk grant applicants will be notified as soon as possible.
