As I complete my first week as GiveWell Community Foundation’s new president/CEO, I am filled with excitement for the future of this community. GWCF is a great organization with a hard-working staff doing good for the community, and I am extremely honored to serve in this new role.

As you know, I joined the foundation staff seven months ago, which has given me a closer look at the impactful work GiveWell Community Foundation has accomplished under the leadership of my predecessor, John Attaway. I am very thankful that John will continue being an important resource for the foundation in his new role as Counsel.

I am excited to share that Christina Criser Jackson, president/CEO of United Way of Central Florida, and I held our first United Community Needs Assessment presentation to a group of community leaders in Highlands County yesterday. We can’t wait to share the findings with you. If you know of a service club, organization, or community group that would be interested in hosting us, please let me or Christina know. More information on the UCNA, including the full written report and executive summaries for each county, will be available very soon. Visit ucneeds.com to learn more.

Thank you for your continued generosity and passion for our community. I look forward to meeting you and finding more ways the GWCF can help you accomplish your philanthropic goals.

Kind regards,

Callie Neslund

President / CEO
