Legacy Society members are engaged and committed to making a difference
At GiveWell Community Foundation, we believe in the power of philanthropy to change lives, not just today, but for years to come. Our latest initiative gives those who are passionate about that idea the opportunity to join with other like-minded people to become more engaged and give back to our community.
The GiveWell Community Foundation Legacy Society is open to anyone who has chosen to make a lasting impact by committing to making a future gift to the Community Foundation (either an outright gift, or part of an estate plan). Legacy Society members are inspired to ensure that their legacy of philanthropy continues, by creating a lasting impact for the causes that matter to them. This video includes some of their stories.
As a trusted partner, the Community Foundation stewards legacy gifts so donors can be confident that the gifts ultimately reflect their wishes. Since donor intent is one of our core principles, Legacy Society members are encouraged to let us know why they are passionate about the causes they care about, so we can share their story with those who will benefit from these future gifts. There are countless nonprofit organizations that have benefited from the generosity of those who have provided gifts through the Community Foundation.
Some Legacy Society members choose to create a GiveWell Community Foundation fund now to be used for their future gift; others leave an outright gift. Either way, the Community Foundation will ensure that donor intentions are met.
Legacy Society members benefit from educational opportunities and joining with others who have made our community’s future a priority. They also have access to donor services offered by the Community Foundation.
Becoming a GiveWell Community Foundation Legacy Society member is as simple as letting us know about your planned gift. For more information about how to join, please visit this page. If you have questions, please reach out to Lori Martini, Vice President / CPO, at lmartini@givecf.org or 863-683-3131.
