GiveWell Community Foundation (GWCF) welcomes three new board members to the GWCF Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2026.

Mark Arquitt, Chad Barron, and Christen Johnson were unanimously approved at the final board meeting of GWCF’s 2025-2026 fiscal year in May, and will serve three-year terms. “Our new board members are passionate about serving our community,” said Callie Neslund, GWCF’s President and CEO. “We welcome their expertise and leadership as the Community Foundation continues to champion charitable giving and address community needs to improve the quality of life in the areas we serve.”

Get to know each of the new board members:

Mark Arquitt is the owner of Home Instead, an at-home care caregiving agency operating in east Polk County. A Florida native, Arquitt started as a general manager in the Winter Haven business in 2016 and purchased the franchise thereafter after finding caring for seniors was his passion. He’s active in Rotary and enjoys spending time with his dog Mollye.

Chad Barron is a mission-driven financial executive, consultant, and community leader based in Auburndale, Florida. After more than two decades in executive leadership within the automotive industry, he founded A Higher Calling Consulting LLC, where he provides fractional CFO-level financial leadership to small and growing businesses. A man of faith, devoted husband to his beautiful wife, Stephanie, and proud father of two teenage children, Chad is passionate about serving others. He enjoys golf, Florida sunsets, and giving back through civic, nonprofit, and mentorship opportunities throughout Polk County.

Christen Johnson serves as Vice President and Hospital Administrator at AdventHealth Wauchula, where she oversees operations and strategic development for the hospital and the AdventHealth Hardee County market. Previously, she served as Executive Director of the AdventHealth Heartland Foundation, leading philanthropic initiatives focused on community health and well-being. She is actively engaged in regional governance and nonprofit leadership, serving as Board Chair of the Highlands County Education Foundation, Vice President of the Hardee County Chamber of Commerce, and as a board member for Good Shepherd Hospice, Tri-County Human Services, and CareerSource Heartland.
