Color Wave’s mission is to enrich Lakeland’s cultural landscape through large-scale public art that celebrates community, creativity, and place by bringing renowned and emerging mural artists together with local businesses and neighborhoods.

Color Wave transforms shared spaces into vibrant landmarks that inspire pride, connection, and dialogue. The Color Wave Walls festival aims to activate downtown corridors, support local economies, amplify diverse voices, and make art accessible to all—using murals as a catalyst for community engagement, education, and long-lasting cultural impact.

Color Wave Fund

The purpose of the Color Wave Fund is to support Color Wave Walls, a community-driven mural festival that transforms shared spaces into vibrant, culturally significant landmarks. Donations to the fund will directly support festival production, including providing artists with competitive compensation, as well as covering essential resources such as materials, equipment, lifts, supplies, and meaningful community engagement efforts.

As a biennial initiative, Color Wave Walls will rotate mural locations and introduce new works each cycle. Donations to the fund will also be dedicated to the ongoing care and preservation of Color Wave murals, ensuring their longevity and continued impact. At its heart, this fund helps create a world-class event and a lasting cultural legacy that Lakeland can take pride in for generations to come.
