GiveWell Community Foundation stands ready to help our community in the wake of Irma

Current attention is rightly focused on preparing for landfall of Hurricane Irma, providing immediate relief to survivors – temporary shelter, food, water, and other basic needs – and watching how the storm unfolds. As you can well imagine, the true degree of the damage will be uncovered in the days ahead. GiveWell Community Foundation stands ready to help the community with long-term hurricane relief. We work closely with service providers who have boots on the ground helping in impacted areas.

GiveWell Community Foundation is focused on the long-term disaster recovery. In response to the needs that will arise following this devastating storm, we have launched the Hurricane Irma Relief Fund to focus on medium and long-term rebuilding of our community. 100% of your gift to the Hurricane Irma Relief Fund will go to helping our community recover. If you would like to contribute to the Hurricane Irma Relief Fund at the GiveWell Community Foundation, you can donate online now.

We encourage you to contribute to trusted resources to help assist those with immediate needs, such as food, shelter, and medical attention. Please see the list below for a few local resources, as well as links to help you prepare yourself.

Please take the necessary steps to prepare and stay safe. We are thinking of you all and our entire community as Hurricane Irma approaches. After the storm, we will reach back to share information on how you can support relief efforts locally. Once the community has stabilized, the GiveWell Community Foundation Hurricane Irma Relief Fund will focus on long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts.
