LAKELAND, FL (August 13, 2021) – Dave Walter, GiveWell Community Foundation’s Communications Manager, was recently named one of twelve members of the statewide Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Rising Leader Class of 2021. In addition, Dave was selected as the recipient of the Joe Curley LeadershipFPRA Scholarship, presented at the association’s annual conference, held August 8-11, 2021.
Dave has been a member of FPRA since 2016, when he joined GiveWell Community Foundation. He has served on the Dick Pope/Polk County Chapter board of directors as communications director and website chair. FPRA isdedicated to developing public relations practitioners who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida.
Dave will also graduate as a member of Leadership Bartow’s Class XVIII later this year. Leadership Bartow is a two-year program of the Bartow Chamber of Commerce oriented towards developing leadership skills, fostering understanding of the major issues facing the community, and connecting community leaders of various backgrounds.
