Impact Polk 2017: Lakeland Police Athletic League’s Youth Teen Summer Program

Funded by an Impact Polk grant through the George W. Jenkins Fund within the GiveWell Community Foundation

The Lakeland Police Athletic / Activities League, Inc. (Lakeland PAL) Youth Teen Summer Program offers three distinct components focusing on at-risk youth from Lakeland’s most impoverished, crime-ridden neighborhoods who are at risk of delinquency, crime, and gang recruiting during the summer months when school is not in.

About Lakeland PAL

The Lakeland Police Athletic / Activities League, Inc. is a cooperative effort between the City of Lakeland, the Lakeland Police Department, local businesses, community leaders, and members of the community. Lakeland PAL was formed to prevent juvenile crime and violence utilizing recreation-oriented juvenile crime prevention programs that relies heavily upon athletics, recreational activities, and education to help kids go right and stay right.
