Impact Polk 2017: “Just Feed Kids” by kidsPACK

Impact Polk grant through the George W. Jenkins Fund within the GiveWell Community Foundation

There are more 3,793 homeless students enrolled in the Polk County School Systems. These children have access to free breakfast and lunch at school, but to a homeless child, the weekend is often two days of worry and insufficient food. Proper nutrition is vital to the growth and educational development of children.

kidsPACK’s “Just Feed Kids” program will provide more children with nutritious, non-perishable food to take home each weekend, ensuring they have access to food when school is not in session. Each meal pack consists of two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners.
