Impact Polk 2017: “Job Training Internship” by RePurpose Art Studio

Impact Polk grant through the George W. Jenkins Fund within the GiveWell Community Foundation

The Job Training Internship is a six-month opportunity made available to four at-risk women living in the Parker Street Neighborhood who are pursing economic stability and a healthy support system.

Women who are selected to participate are paid fifteen hours-per-week to use the skills they are learning at RePurpose Art Studio such as sewing, jewelry-making, and furniture repair, as well as practical skills such as sales, inventory, administration, and management. The products they create are sold in stores. The women are also connected with local businesses wanting to provide employment opportunities to at risk women from our community.
